working with reve

Reve asked me to turn aesthetic languages into systems their users can run. Not image sets. Dictionaries. Each one has rules you can follow: a palette, a treatment, a range of allowed subjects.

Six of them made the launch editorial for Shared References: Swiss Design, Y2K Futurism, Chrome Domestic Scenes, Brutalism, 90s Anime Backgrounds, Halftone Print. The editorial ran them next to Zipeng Zhu. That sentence is still hard to say in one breath.

I thought polish was the hard part. The structure was. Once a thousand people regenerate your dictionary with their own prompts, what you shipped is not the look. It is the decisions that made the look.

Working inside a product you don't own: their numbers win. Export sizes, naming, review cycles. I hated some of it until the launch landed and it cost zero of my own frames.
